Dull Days of January and Updates

There is never anything going on in the winter months for us except Shaney's birthday.

He got a gift card to TRU from Uncle Peter so this is what he got (of course):

Then, this past week at school, he came home with this and his name written by himself!!!

Huge accomplishment for him. He still has a ways to go.

Shane is still challenging in his behavior. I don't remember when it started but he is constantly looking for attention (unless he's playing). He gets crazy and gets in our faces. It drives Ryan nuts. I find that if I shower him with attention he backs off. It's a reminder to give him special time.

He still does karate and Brennan stopped doing it. It was so expensive and he wasn't really into it. Shane fights us every time to go but once he's there, he does really well. I want him to find something he loves. Brennan has an endless list of hobbies and interests. I don't mean to compare them but I worry about Shane more in some ways. He doesn't seem like he's mature enough to go to Kindergarten in September but his teachers think he's fine. They think he's just not interested in writing and coloring. He is getting into video games and loves Indiana Jones Lego game on Wii.

His speech is not an issue anymore. He is understood even with a slight baby-like voice. He does 5 day Pre-K and goes to Miss Jenny's still on MWF and Mimi and Pop's on T/Th. He's still in diapers at night with no signs of that stopping and goes to bed at 7.

Brennan. He can be pretty disrespectful when he speaks to me and Ryan. It's something we're working on and he gets his Wii taken away. He gives me a hard time almost every night to do his homework and reading assignments. He also only likes to wear what I call 'scrub clothes.' He looks horrible and never wants to wear jeans. He's getting into 'fashion' aka wanting to wear what others are wearing. Brennan's playing basketball now and loves sports, esp football. He's very social and wants to play with his friends at all times. I told Ryan that Brennan is a guy's guy meaning he only really wants to play with Ryan or Pop or Uncle Jim, etc. He has no time for me even. Bedtime now is 8.

He's a great big brother and helps Owen out a ton. He gets him is Pediasure in the morning and helps him get dressed. I told him God knew what he was doing making him a big bro.

Owen James. He is such a cuddle bug and loves me so much. It's so cute. He's doing well at OEPC and at Miss Jenny's. Very sensitive to other's feelings. If I get hurt, he's the first to come over and make sure I'm okay. If I fake cry, he's so upset and sush's me until I stop. He loves babies and would be a great big bro if that's what God wants. He definitely has baby speech but multiple people have told me that he's getting better. Currently, I mean very recently, he hasn't had accidents at school or Miss Jenny's. He gets 1:1 time with Mimi/Pop on T/Th mornings when Shaney's at school. He's happy to be at home 24/7 cuddling on the couch with his beeshie and lovey. Yes, he still has beeshie...

I'm so happy I did this blog because I feel as though I can't remember milestones with them.
