Christmas 2014

Christmas was great as usual. We went to the Basilica on Christmas Eve for a wonderful, beautiful mass. The kids were so good during church that we were able to stay the whole time. Mimi and Pop came too! I love that new tradition.

Christmas morning this year, Mimi and Pop came to see what Santa brought. Brennan got a new bike, Lego firehouse set and video games. Shane got a new big wheels, Lego Movie lego set, Bumble toy, Indiana Jones game. Owen got a new big wheels, Hess truck, Chewbacca toy. They got games, clothes, Nerf guns (from Jim and Kelly), and a bunch of other great gifts.

Tonight is New Years Eve! Cannot believe my Shaney will be 5 in a couple of weeks. Time sure flies. I remember sitting at home on New Years Eve 2009 wondering when he'd come.

The days are long but the years are short.

Let's see if I can remember all this from Thanksgiving!

Time sure is flying. We've been doing some Christmas-y things like driving around to see the lights, going to Sabos and driving through Shady Brook farm lights, seeing Santa, going to all the boys Christmas/Holiday shows, shopping at Dollar Tree with Brennan, baking cookies and going to a Christmas lunch with Mimi and Pop at the club.

Owen was the wise man at his school play. He was so excited to do it. He has speech therapy twice a month at school. Brennan did NOT want us to go to see him at his school sing-a-long but Pop came with me and Brennan told us to go away!

Shane did great singing although he seemed to forget a lot of the words!

Thanksgiving 2014

November was a busy month! Dylan Hudson Putterman came on November 5th and we got to meet him that weekend! I'm his Godmother!

We went to his Bris in NYC which was very nice.

Flag football ended and school is going well.

Brennan got his orange belt in karate and Shane got his turtle belt!

The month ended with the Arvanitopolous cousins coming in for Thanksgiving! We went to SkyZone and had turkey dinner here. The Derstines came on that Saturday and we saw the Andersons that Sunday. Shane had an ear infection again :(

Halloween 2014

Yesterday was Halloween. I got 3 turtle shells and 3 turtle masks. At first they liked them but last minute yesterday, Owen went as Dida. He got his hat and gloves. Why do I spend money on costumes?!?

Fall Fest Shady Brook

We went to Shady Brook Farm with the Sabos this past Sunday. It was windy and cold but it was still fun.

October Updates

Brennan's been doing flag football. He absolutely loves it and asks every day multiple times when football is again. He's not good but loves it. That's all that matters! He lost another tooth last night. He's in CCD on Sunday mornings. The first 2 sessions, he cried (he was the only one). Yesterday was the first day he didn't cry. One of the kids in his CCD told his friend at school that he cried and he 'didn't like that.' 

Shane's doing great at school. He's not a problem as per Mrs. Salazar. I don't think his OT skills are any better but she seems to think it's more that he's just not interested in coloring, writing, etc. He scribbles when he colors and doesn't hold his pencil right. He's still a challenge at times. His new thing is that he's scared to go in his room by himself. He won't come upstairs alone either. Shanes the only one who's up at night because he's scared. He's still in a diaper at night.

Owen is a challenge. He used to be my sweet boy but now he fights a lot. He'll give us a dirty look and says 'I'm not happy.' When he's in trouble and I get mad, he'll ask me if I'm happy or not. He had 2 accidents today at school and seems to have them a lot at school. He's happiest when he's with blankie, lovey and beeshie, on the couch watching 'babies' aka Rugrats. He loves pickles!

Karate, Speech Therapy and others....

Shane and Brennan are doing Karate in Flourtown with the Chripczuks. They go twice a week for a half hour each and love it (specifically because of the boxing gloves they got).

Owen qualifies for speech therapy through the IU. The woman couldn't understand him during the evaluation and his stuttering has gotten more frequent. I think he started stuttering in June or July. Yesterday, I took him to see the pets at PetSmart and I asked him if he liked little dogs or big dogs. He couldn't get the word 'little' out of his mouth and got really upset. Although he needs an IEP for this, he obviously needs it.

Owen had a great first day of preschool. He cried going in and didn't want to go all morning. I put him on the floor and Mrs. Gillinger took him. I dropped Shane off (no problem whatsoever) and peeked in to check on Owen again. He was completely fine.
