Owen had a fever last week on Tuesday then Shane got it on Wednesday. It was weird because it seemed to last only about 8 hours for Shane. They also have colds.
Owen hasn't been sleeping great either. I know he's teething and with the helmet that doesn't help. I don't keep the helmet on him at night though. Last night he slept in his bed til midnight then off and on in his swing til 5 then with me til 7. He has a bad cough too.
Brennan's been trying lately. (well always but moreso now). He loves potty talk and the other day I spanked him for the first time for throwing a toy out of anger. He seemed to respond to it though. I'm not going to make a habit out of it. Brennan had his first swim lesson this past Thursday - he loved it! He's the oldest one in the class because you swim with a parent. He was his usual hesitant self at first but then was all smiles. So glad. You never know with him.
Shane got reapproved for speech for another 3 months. I still can't understand him and I know for sure others can't understand him. I think he's going to need speech for awhile. He is such a good boy. He sits all by himself to get a haircut. He loves Dora. His tantrums are at an all time high but he recovers. He had a swim lesson this past Saturday and hated it! I was so surprised. Ryan said he cried through the whole lesson.....

Owen's Helmet
Owen got his helmet this past Friday. He's been wearing it for a few hours at a time then 1 hour off and the nights he doesn't have to wear it - until tonight. When we first got home on Friday, I put him down for a nap and prayed he would do okay. He has so far; he's taken okay naps with it on. It's hard to get on and off. I always do it with Ryan to help me or vice versa. I can't kiss him and smell his little head anymore. He has to now wear it 23 hours a day for 4 months. I think I already see a slight improvement. Maybe it's wishful thinking. He's a little bit more cranky and I don't know if that's due to the helmet or teething. Or both. I feel so badly for him.
Brennan started with yet another cold yesterday. Owen woke up with it today. Yippee

Plastic Surgery Appt
We saw Dr Bartlett at CHOP today. At first he was going to give us an option to try and fix it on our own (as in us repositioning him all the time) because his plagiocephaly is mild to moderate. Then I said well, what do you suggest? He looked at him again and said, let's do the helmet. So now I left a message with an orthotist in Blue Bell and she'll do the helmet. Waiting by the phone for her to call back as Dr Bartlett said we'd have to do the helmet now.
Owen, 6 months:
Owen's 6 month well was Monday. He's 15lb 15oz, 26 inches?? I forget.
Brennan has been surprising me with his drawing and now with his spelling!!! I wrote Pop out for his birthday card and Brennan wrote it all by himself!!! At school the other day, he drew this all by himself. I only thought he could scribble!! So funny how proud I was of him for drawing this.
Updates (2/10/12):
Brennan wrote Pop all by himself without me reminding him how to do it.
Orthotist appt on Wednesday night: Said we should've come directly to her sooner. Helmet will be ready next Friday the 17th. She showed me all his facial asymetries (sp?)
