Outer Banks Trip

Okay, so last week we went to Duck, NC for the week with the fam! It was fun and the kids did great on the ride there and back. Mimi drove with me last Friday to Pop's apartment in Petersburg, VA and we stayed overnight there. On Saturday afternoon, we drove to Duck. It was only about 3 hours from there.

The trip consisted of everyday at the beach (beautiful, hot weather), some shopping and eating! Brennan slept in a different room almost every night. Owen wanted Pop to hold him almost the whole time we were there. Shane was his usual happy, crazy, funny self. Ryan came down late Tuesday night as he had to work. We came home late afternoon on Friday so we had this weekend to relax here before starting up the crazy life again. Brennan loved being off from school and didn't want to come home. The house was huge but not updated. We were right on the beach so we didn't have to pack up the whole house to go to the beach as we do in NJ. We are already planning for next year!

Yesterday, I made the decision it was time for Brennan to give up beeshie. I know, this is way too late but I was afraid for my lack of sleep! It was a selfish reason. So he cried a lot while going to bed last night but Ryan stayed with him and gave him the confidence he needed to sleep without. He fell asleep soon after and slept through the night. Today we got him a Mario game for Wii and he gave his beeshie to Jillian. We'll see how tonight goes!

Brennan's first day of school!

Brennan started school this past Monday! He was a nervous wreck as always. We went the first day with him and he didn't leave my side. I saw him looking at his friends like he wanted to go play with them but then got nervous. Mrs Salazar will tell me if she thinks he needs some other kind of outside help to deal with his anxieties. He's cried all morning the past 2 and doesn't want to go. I drop him off with Mrs Salazar and supposedly he stops crying right away. He participates and has told the teacher that he doesn't like it when everyone yells. So he's able to express why he's so anxious.

Owen can walk across the room now!! It's so adorable. We are totally done with morning naps!

Shane's still in speech and may not qualify when he's 3. He's such a mischief maker! And he'll look at you while doing something he's not supposed to just to get a reaction. He's easy going and I have no qualms about sending him to school (hopefully in January). He's social and would benefit from being away from Brennan.

This past Saturday I went with Debby and Amy up to NYC to visit Beth. We had a blast!!!!

More Steps!

Owen has been taking more and more steps!! Today he took about 6 steps.

Shane's new words are 'gumbumbee' (bumblebee) and he says 'hug 'em' if he sees a picture of an animal he wants to hug.

Today we are going to the Fresh Beat Band in Allentown. Owen woke up with a cold so I'm going to take the older boys alone.

Brennan was very unsure of the whole thing. He loved it though and during intermission he was so worried we wouldn't get back in our seats in time. He wouldn't dance or clap but he didn't take his eyes off the show. Shane lost interest after the intermission.
