Sesame Place and Induction

Went to the OB last night. Induction is set for Tuesday, August 2 (Grandpop's birthday!). I haven't made any progress so my doctor wants me to come in when he's in the hospital. Hopefully I'll go on my own before then but at least I know there's an end in sight. I just can't believe I haven't gone on my own especially because I've had these babies so close together.

We were brave and took the boys to Sesame Place on Sunday. I didn't know if I could do it, but we did. We were only there for about 3 hours before Shane lost it. I love that place for the boys. We did a lot of the water stuff because it was hot. They loved it!!

Progress??

Had my 38 week OB check last night. I'm 2-3 cm but the head is not engaged. Still 'thick' she said so I'm not effaced enough. She said if I do get induced, that I wouldn't need to come in the night before for cervadil (sp?). She said I'd just go in and they'd break my water. I would love to go on my own as I did with Brennan and labor at home as long as possible. I have a feeling I'll be scheduling my induction date next week though.....

Shane had his 18 month well check last week. No shots!! But he needs speech eval and got a lead screening because of all the dirt he eats. I almost cried when they drew his blood on Saturday. I'm waiting for the results. Speech is coming out on 8/29. It'll be interesting if he does qualify because I'll have a newborn to work with as well as Shane.

My mom had someone come out the past 2 days to deep clean my rugs and clean my house. I had no idea how dirty my rugs actually were. They look like new. So now I'm paranoid about shoes and dirt on my floors! With 2 boys~!! (and Ryan!). It was a very nice gift!

Brennan had a sports camp this week. On Monday, he didn't want any parts of it. Then on Tuesday, he was totally into it until he didn't see me. I was behind a tree and he lost it. So he got a donut treat because he was so good on Tuesday. Then yesterday, he wouldn't participate again. And I was chasing after Shane in the heat while Brennan was just running around right next to me. Emma was participating as well as ALL the other kids. Except Brennan. So I called today to ask for a refund and they don't do that. So there's $85 down the drain. Maybe next summer.

Baby updates, summer

I forgot to blog about the new baby's progress. I was a fingertip dilated on Friday, July 1st and 2 cm on Thursday, July 7th. I couldn't believe how fast that was. I think I was 3 cm for the longest time with Shane though. I have another appointment today at 3. I'm not expecting much. The nesting is in full effect! Didn't think I'd ever feel like getting this house ready but I do now. My mom's gift to me was a carpet cleaner and house cleaner who is coming next week. Cannot wait. I am very uncomfortable and can't wait to see who this little baby is.

This past weekend, we went to the shore. The boys had a great time. They love the beach. Brennan went under the water and he was fine with it. Shane kept running away - to other people's toys. It was funny and thank god Ryan was with us because there was no way I could've been chasing him. The baby feels so low and I have a lot of pressure. It takes me forever to walk places!

Shane turned 18 months on Monday. That went fast. He has his well check on Thursday. I'm thinking he may need a speech evaluation. He's such a delight and we are so blessed to have him.

4th of July

We had a low key weekend. I had off on Friday because Ryan had to work so I took the boys to my OB appt which was interesting considering that I have internals done now. But I didn't have anyone to watch them. It worked out fine. Then we went to Nana and Pop-Pop's for dinner. It was the most stressful dinner ever!! Shane goes crazy when he's there, and the house is not baby proofed. He was wild. It was still nice to see them.

On Saturday, I worked in the morning then Pop came and picked up Brennan so he could 'help' my dad mow. Shane went for a nap in his new room and new crib. It took him about an hour. But he was fine after that. Ryan set up Brennan's new bed and we got the mattress. It took Brennan forever to fall asleep that night. Lots of crying and being 'talked' into sleeping. It was rough. But he slept through the night.

On Sunday, I worked again then came home and ran errands with just Ryan. It goes so much smoother without the kids!! Then Rebecca, Jeff, Julia and Andrew came for pizza. It was so much fun. Brennan and Andrew play together great. And Shane just follows them around!

On Monday, we went to the parade in Oreland with my parents. It was great!! Brennan and Shane loved it. Brennan had to wear the ear muffs that he wears when he mows with Pop because last year, the parade was so loud he hated it. Here's a pic:

A policeman actually stopped to notice Brennan's ear muffs. OMG so funny. Shane loved it too. They would throw out candy and Shane would run and pick it up and put it in this boy's candy bag who was standing next to us. He loved that! It was so funny. Brennan was very non-aggressive with the candy. Shane had 2 lollipops. After naps we went to my parent's again for dinner. It was a great day!
