May Surgery

Owen got ear tubes on May 13th. He did okay - he was great but had a complication with the surgery called laryngospasm. The nurses (and anesthesiologist) weren't going to tell me. Good thing I had a friend there. It took awhile for them to call us back to see him and when we did, he had an IV in. So I knew something happened.

Dr. Jarvis did the surgery and said he really needed tubes - his one ear had very thick fluid that was in his ear for awhile. It was so thick it got stuck in the suction tube!

We went to WDW for the week of May 17th and stayed at the Boardwalk. Wonderfully exhausting is the best way to put it!

Owen did the best I think. He loved the characters, got involved, didn't stay scared on the rides. He cried through pirates but loved Ariel.

But, Shane and Brennan really surprised me by going on the fast rides!!! Shane only cried on Space Mountain because it was dark. Their favorite ride was Big Thunder Mountain and went on it 3 times.

We went to 2 character breakfasts that were wonderful for Owen especially. We met Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore, Mickey, Goofey, Donald and Daisy.

We never waited in a line thanks to Ryan's awesome planning and it wasn't that crowded. The pool was awesome, clean and had a big slide. We did that every day and the kids were in bed at their normal times except for 1 night. I wanted to stay out late at Magic Kingdom but they were so exhausted by bed time.

Shane was sick the last night there. He seemed feverish and couldn't stay awake. I thought it was strep but it looks like a cold.

Mimi and Pop had a great time too :)
