Trip to Massachusetts

We got home from Massachusetts late on Monday night. We had no trouble getting up or back. It was really nice. Brennan got along great with Nikolaos and Gregory. They had 2 dogs, Cody and Harley. On Sunday morning, the day Gretchen was to have the whole family over for dinner, Harley began having seizures. She was out of it, panting and unable to use her back legs. Gretchen and Nancy took her to the vet and unfortunately, the day of Nana's funeral, they had to put Harley down. Of all days!

Brennan was great with the dogs because they don't 'fuff.' They were small dogs too. The boys got a ton of toys, clothes and toy hand me downs from their cousins. We came home with so much more than we arrived with! The boys were exhausted by the end of the trip.

The funeral was really, really nice. Hardly any tears. My dad gave a nice eulogy and I heard the priest say to him it was the best he ever heard. It's a shame because I didn't know some of the things Nana did until she was gone. For example, she went to work so my dad could go to Prep school and not have to be drafted. I said after the funeral that it's such a shame that everyone she loves gets together when she's gone. Why doesn't it happen when people are alive? I wonder when was the last time she had all 5 of her kids in the same room.

On a positive note, she led a wonderful, love filled life and will be missed.

Shane is walking like crazy, Brennan's basically potty trained if he's naked waist down. Proud of them both!! I think I felt the baby move this past Tuesday night. Love that feeling. It's starting to feel real now. Can't wait to hear the heartbeat next week.

That's all for now!
